Now he finds that he must fill up his life which is void of any purpose, but he does not know what he truly desires. When he finds a fleeting image of someone from his past reflected in someone else’s eyes, he is flooded with the memories of old and emotions. However, he wonders about whether he is truly free, or if he is still bound either in terms of a relationship or circumstances or his own emotions. He puts on various faces for covering himself up, but his real self never changes. When he is vulnerable or out of control, it is he alone who knows about it. The “animal” refers to his instinctual self which he tries to hide from everyone except himself.
