The song is about a Tamil individual who goes to Kerala and gets interested in its culture, cuisine, movies, and scenic places. In the first part of the song, “chettan,” who comes to Kerala, tastes the popular food known as pazhampori and tries his best to sing a Malayalam song, whereas a Tamil girl is referred to as “thangachi” and invited to join him, with the promise to taste parotta and salna. The song depicts the natural beauty and local culture of Kerala with a mention of its sea, karimeen and rice, Kalaripayattu, Kathakali, and Alappuzha. The Malayalam films are also alluded to in this song by talking about the famous stars of Malayalam films such as Lalettan and Mammookka, which refers to Mohanlal and Mammootty. The second part of the song starts with some hilarious lines about the beach, mountains, boats, houses, and A. R. Rahman’s house in Kerala. In this part, the Malayalam language and music are praised as well by claiming that the beauty of the language and seven musical notes give birth to new ragas in the song.
