Serena Joy Song Lyrics

Yeah, it's all for the cause
For the good of us all
And if you close your eyes
Then it can't be your fault
Yeah, it's all for the cause
For the good of us all
Here's a tower we built
Painted gold on the walls
And we'll never be beat
No, we never will fall
While they're out on the streets
Man, we're having a ball

Come in close, come in close
Come a little bit closer
Sing along, sing along
What they tell you to do
Comin' 'round, comin' 'round
Comin' around thе corner
If they do it to them
Thеy'll do it to you
If they do it to them
They're gonna do it to you

Have a Coke and a smile
In the hot summer bliss
Now go bother your neighbors
While we do what we wish
Have a Coke and a smile
Let me show you a trick
If you can't throw a punch
You can learn how to spit
And we'll never give up
And we'll never submit
Look, the life of your dream
Is beyond that cliff

Come in close, come in close
Come a little bit closer
Sing along, sing along
What they tell you to do
Comin' 'round, comin' 'round
Comin' around the corner
If they do it to them
They'll do it to you
If they do it to them
They're gonna do it to you

That's what you
That's what you
What you get, what you get
It's automatic
Go ahead, go ahead
Don't think about it
What you get, what you get, what you get
Rotting in the sunshine
What you get, what you get
It's automatic
Go ahead, go ahead
Don't think about it
What you get, what you get, what you get
Everything is just fine
Everything is just fine
Everything is just fine

The song presents Yasin's life and how he ended up being part of the world of gang crimes through various stages from his life as a child in Rinkeby. The song starts with the Somali civil war and famine of 1991 that made many people to migrate to Sweden including Yasin's parents. The story focuses more on Yasin's mother whose life was hard because she had many children and experienced the loss of the children and husband and in the future Yasin's father left her. With all the challenges and difficulties that she faced, Yasin grew up in Rinkeby with drugs, robbery and gang activities gradually becoming a norm. He started noticing robbery and stealing from his friends at around age 13 and at first tried to avoid his friends from doing what they were doing due to the temptation of money and no guidance he decided to join them in drug dealing. When things started to get out of hand, some of the old criminals started looking for him and even ran to school trying to avoid police arrest. Around 16, he had joined the criminal world through dealing with drugs, guns, robbery and gangs trying to become rich quickly. He explains how easy it is to enter the world of criminality but getting out is hard. In summary, he talks about the family's poverty situation, unstable family background and mental issues that were used by a gang leader to control him.
