The song gives an account of how a man recalls the city which once used to be a part of his dreams and hopes. But with the passage of time, the very same city is seen by him as a place that fades away into darkness. The hustles and bustles of life have also drained the hope out of him. He finds himself moving towards the end of his years of life in vain without knowing what exactly is his destination. The place and the life that once used to give him happiness and a sense of belongingness is now devoid of life. He misses love the most out of everything as the love which used to give him reason to move ahead is no more there.
